I Heart

It seems money cannot buy love - but it can buy something to love. I'm dying for a renovated Wagoneer. Spotted this one in the grocery store parking lot from Wagonmaster. Genius.

"It's LaCroix, Sweetie"

TGIF.
I love Absolutely Fabulous.  I cannot remember when I stumbled on this brilliant show (the 90s?!), but I remember feeling a kind of kindred, envy, shame, and je ne sais quoi while watching...  The utter cluelessness makes us all feel a little better about our own indulgences and faux pas.  Maybe.  I still cannot put my finger on it, but it makes me laugh and that's all that matters.  Happy Weekend.

For JAX. xoxo

Changing Seasons

Happy Playoff Sunday! I'm actually really into football right now. It's no nonsense and doesn't (usually) conjure the same level of personal drama as reality tv, or even a classic movie. It's escape at its most American. And I'm sad that the season is closing soon!
I'm quickly going to scout a show in Savannah for a little project I'm working on (stay tuned) and hurrying back to enjoy the next to last Sunday football.
The sun is out here, and after that brief wallop of spring we endured last week combined with the end of football season, I must focus on spring! Fortunately spring in the south means beach and boat. I love the image below although I'm not sure who gets the credit. Someone said Slim but I'm not convinced.

Brilliant Animal Jewelry

I love jewelry.  That's why I design and obsessively collect jewelry.  My grandmother started it, but that's another story I have wriiten on my Sugarbuzz blog.
Here are some delicious pieces from a Spanish designer on Etsy called Modernaked.  The whimsy is brilliant!  One of these will be mine - I just haven't decided which one... There are quite a few more on her site, too, follow the links!

Inspiration, Spring 2013

Here we are at the beginning of 2013.  It is time for me to make some plans and goals, specifically career-related goals.
Fortunately I have opened a pop-up shop in Beaufort, South Carolina called The Boxwood Cottage where I can work and showcase my jewelry line.  Now it's time to get to it and design new pieces for Spring and Summer! For my own inspiration and to share a bit with friends I thought I would post images that are inspiring me and the direction of Heidi Brueggeman for the coming season...

love the messy chains and layered shells topped off by an industrial chic anchor.

more layers, twists, coral, and sparkles.

acid yellow is always a favorite for me whether an accent or an entire feature

morocco - not only are the colors incredible - can we talk about the tassels on the left?

i love his little feather hat. the texture and colors are absolutely perfection.

the colors on this hummingbird blow my mind. i definitely want to do a piece with the magenta, Cliquot orange, and grounding neutrals.

love the colors!

the configuration of this vintage necklace (i am assuming) makes me pine for better engineering skills.
